COPENX REALITIES

CopenX Realities provides cutting-edge insights into the latest developments in the XR industry with keynotes, panel debates and inspiring talks with first-movers, executive leaders and opinion-makers from the industry. At CopenX we are in search of in-depth knowledge in order to qualify the conversation about the present and future use of immersive technologies.

 

CopenX was founded in 2016 by Therkel Sand Therkelsen and the first CopenX Realities was held in September 2016 at Papirøen, Copenhagen. 

 

In 2020, CopenX Realities 2020 will be a digital event. It is not just a digital event or a digital replica of a physical event - it is much more than that! We have chosen to divide CopenX Realities across four days with separate sessions enabling you to pick and choose your favourite topics and tracks. The digital format allows us to create a platform where you can connect, learn and enjoy keynotes, panel debates and workshops with international thought leaders and pioneers from your home office, living room or wherever you choose to access it.

Industry insights, panels and discussions with leading experts over four different days

The main focus of CopenX Realities is how Virtual and Augmented Reality will impact existing business, social and cultural structures. The real promise of Immersive Technologies is to change human connection.

Immersive technologies will have the ability to change the every industry from the military to healthcare, entertainment, gaming, education, fashion, and business, just to name a few. In 2020, CopenX Realities focuses on the four tracks: Extended Realities, Training & Simulation, Digital Transformation & Virtual Beings and Creative & Storytelling, which are spread across four different days: 15th-18th of December. We will present the possibilities and challenges, to embrace a large variety of insights and perspectives within the specific topic of interest. 

CopenX Realities will be livestreamed on our website.

EXTENDED REALITIES 

Track 1, Extended Realities, reflects on how the present and future use of immersive technologies impact existing business, social and cultural structures to change human connection.

During the track, XR leaders and experts will dive into how businesses can use virtual reality to bring their visions to life, they will discuss the possibilities, benefits and challenges of investing in immersive technologies in the Nordic market,  and they will elaborate on state-of-the-art planet-scale augmented reality platforms for current and future generations of AR hardware.

The relationship between technology and people is constantly evolving. While more and more companies merge humans with immersive technologies, the potential for new digital experiences increase, creating new ways for higher business value.

TRACK 1: EXTENDED REALITIES

TRAINING & SIMULATION

Track 2, Training & Simulation, focuses on how immersive technologies can drive future training and simulation by enabling real-time interaction with experts and real-case scenarios, and allows users to create meaningful experiences, establish emotional connections, gain confidence and produce successful outcomes.

During the track, training and simulation experts and leaders will highlight cases on immersive technologies in business training, counting the future of spatial computing, the world's first mixed reality approach in transportation and the role of immersive technologies in cognitive training.

The potential for immersive technologies to change the way we learn is substantial, as it allows individuals to practice or learn hard and soft skills whilst avoiding unwanted situations. This creates intuitive learning environments for visualizing information enabling remote collaboration and knowledge easy and natural.

TRACK 2: TRAINING & SIMULATION

DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION & VIRTUAL BEINGS

Track 3, Digital Transformation & Virtual Beings, has a twofold focus and considers both the broader process of digital transformation, as well as the conceptualization of virtual beings. 

Digital transformation experts and leaders will discuss how companies can facilitate immersive technologies to transform their businesses through VR toolboxes and AR content that can be used in an easy and accessible manner. Experts and leaders within virtual beings, that is the mix between conversational AI and the creative development of fictional characterics, will deliberate on cases dealing with the creation of avatars and visual experiences, and you will be presented with the world’s most advanced and photorealistic AI-driven virtual avatars that users can interact with using their voice or text.

Our current digital era pervades our lives to the extent that today technology does not only determine society, but in many ways it becomes society. As we spend so much time on screens,  even the real live humans we’re interacting with can start to feel like avatars.

TRACK 4: CREATIVE & STORYTELLING

CREATIVE & STORYTELLING

Track 4, Creative and Storytelling, considers the art of immersive storytelling through extended reality, and how extended realities may reinvent the way that stories are crafted and told by allowing a more direct and interactive experience for a range of subjects. 

During the track, you will meet visionary leaders and experts who inspire innovative thinking and introduce you to the possibilities of extended realities in storytelling. They will give their take on the act of creating compelling stories in fictional universes across immersive platforms, how immersive storytelling  can help to optimize the storyline, insight and context for the user's behavior and interactions, and how new interfaces can be used to create content with purpose and impact in art, media and culture.

The definitive goal of a storyteller is to immerse the audience in the universe of their story, and creators have the potential to bring vivid worlds to life that can be more than simply seen, heard and felt.
